Pensler Galleries is
one of the most prominent dealers in historical art in the Washington area.
Established in 1976, the gallery deals in a wide range of American,
European, and Latin American paintings, sculpture and works on paper. The
gallery has a special emphasis on 18th, 19th and 20th Century American
paintings as well as works by early 20th Century Modern Masters.
Pensler Galleries usually displays works from its extensive inventory
holdings, but on occasion does hold special exhibitions. These exhibitions
generally focus upon a particular artist or historical period. Previous
exhibitions include: Milton Avery, Paintings and Works on Paper
(1993), Nine Fellows of the American Academy in Rome (1994),
Joseph Stella, Painting and Works on Paper (1994), and French Works
from the Early 20th Century (1995). In addition, Pensler Galleries
periodically issues catalogs of its inventory holdings. The gallery is also
one of the representatives of the estate of the early 20th Century American
modernist, Joseph Stella.
Besides buying and selling works of art, the Gallery also brokers works of
art, provides advisory services, and performs appraisals. Please contact the
gallery for more information.
